The award
MindRunning72 (마인드러닝72), a start-up club at Hanyang University, won the top prize at the Capital Region University Start-up Club Joint Workshop (수도권 대학 창업동아리 연합워크숍). The workshop ran for two days from 15 September and brought together start-up clubs from fourteen universities in the Seoul capital region. Hanyang hosted it as part of the Start-up Centered University program supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Institute of Startup and Entrepreneurship Development. Venture capital professionals and founders sat on the jury, and each team had five minutes to present and five minutes for questions. Hanyang’s campus news service, News H, reported the result in a feature on 29 October.
MindRunning72 was started by colleagues who met at the education company CREVERSE (크레버스). Its members are Lee Dong-gyu, a doctoral student in Computer Science and Software; Jeong Ji-woong, a doctoral student in Information Systems; and Jeong Eun-jeong, a master’s student in Computer Engineering. Lee told News H that the workshop was “a good chance to have the marketability of our business item evaluated objectively.”
The collaboration
Jungsoo Kim has worked with MindRunning72 for two months, since September. While the team carried out its project, he helped build its core technology.
The team’s product, Square Learning (스퀘어 러닝), is a six-stage “core AI” education platform that runs from understanding AI concepts through building models to solving problems. It needs no software installation; a login is enough for hands-on practice online. It includes a Socratic AI tutor that asks questions back, and automated data-based reports.

What comes next
The team aims to launch the service formally in January next year and to enter the United States market two years after that. The workshop and the team’s story are covered in detail in the News H article, in Korean.
